I feel they explored the cloning thing pretty well. I think it was pretty clear we weren't following the same guy the whole time (like at one moment his face is hurt and then it isn't). And I personally think one clone went home but the clone (or real guy) that had committed the horrible acts couldn't live with himself and decided he didn't deserve to go home.

That's probably true and I probably missed some details like that.

I like your theory - mine was probably the more obvious route, that he saw his name on the boarding pass and didn't recognize himself any more as James and decided to stay at the resort, sort of like a ghost haunting the place where he died.

Also I just really, really, really kept expecting it to go a different direction, where he would get in trouble with the rich cool kids but his wife was going to cut his access to the account and he was just going to get executed himself... Probably way more obvious though >_>
