TopicTrue Detective season 4 finale was one of the worst I've ever seen.

One of the worst writing sins there is is when the author writes something that they think is making the audience feel one way but then in reality the audience actually feels the complete and total opposite feeling. An example of this is at the end of Mass Effect 3, when all the mass relays are destroyed and galactic civilization as we know it is over due to being unable to travel at warp speed any longer, but the final shots are of our crew crashed on a pretty planet all happy and stuff looking into the sunset. Just a total and complete disconnect in feels on what the writer thought they were writing and what the audience is actually feeling.

I experienced that with the finale to Night Country. The cleaning ladies were presented as heroic figures, as defenders of truth and justice, when in reality the audience views them as the psychopath mass murderers they are. The cops are complicit, and a horrific crime went down and I'm wondering why this is all being shown as if the good guys are winning. It's like bizarro land.
