I don't like speculating but I really have to question whether this was just incompetence from the nurse/school or something worse. This kid was failed on multiple fronts and it's fucking heartbreaking. Something worse, I suspect. Another trans student was regularly bullied and then attacked in an act of corrective rape at the school restroom and was told by school staff to not make a big deal of it because it could ruin their attacker's life.
