Im not trying to justify their shitty action the point is the subject let a bunch of people run around and troll about even just by politicizing the success or failure of the game itself and yet the result was a trans person got banned from their (poor) reaction to it. Thats the definition of trolling on the report popup, provoking others into responding inappropriately. And thats what a bunch of people were using HL to do to CE at large
That's still not what happened. There were like maybe two people who said the bolded and they got modded for it. Everybody else was just saying they wanted to play the game because it looked fun.

You need to remember, before Hogwarts Legacy came out there was a substantial number of people who were taking the position that being positive about the game was in itself inherently anti-trans, playing it was also anti-trans. If you were going to play the game it was impossible for you to be an ally, it was impossible for you to be pro-trans, you were part of the problem.
This quieted down after Hogwarts Legacy blew the fuck up and became as I recall the best selling game of 2023.
Maybe early 2023. There's no way Baldur's Gate 3 sold less.
