well he said they were high-end upon release. it seems like many people at the time thought that too after a brief look at older threads on diff sites.

the ps3 seems to have been dethroned by pcs just months later tho. the poster did say by 2013 (ps4 release date) that they were antiquated tech so he knows that they sucked by that point too

That's because Console hardware architecture,operating system, apis are competely different from PC. They have intergrated graphics/cpu, shared memory, lower wattage,etc. In addition Developers of Sony games are not nessaraily the same developers for PC ports. Some ports perform better then others. Console develpoers have to make the game run on PS5. Whereas on PC develpoers can target high-end hardware. It's not alway Apples to Apples.

That said Steam Deck, has already proven you don't need high end specs to have a good experence with PC. Ryzen APUs on PC are not as good as Consoles, but they are still very solid.

oh yeah there are still games that ive tried out recently that ran better on my pc than the ps5. hogwarts legacy and elden ring are two that i can think of. tho it is not like a night n day difference

i do not need higher-end specs atm since i mainly play older titles (like my sig). AAA games dont appeal to me much unless i get super FOMO like w/ elden ring and hogwarts legacy. Prob gonna play the elden ring dlc when it relases. atm my pc can still run elden ring at native 4k 60 fps w/ adjustments to certain presets (obv rtx turned off). hoping that stays the case w/ the dlc.
