Though story has never really been a significant factor to me on whether I enjoy a game. the story is decent if you recognize that vaan was only added as a surrogate main character after both ashe *and* basch, didn't do well with target audiences but yeah, 12 pretty much borrowed the 11 (best in the franchise, as far as combat goes) battle system and rigged it so that non-player characters had programmable scripting tbh there's something super satisfying about learning and fortifying certain skills/characters to the point where the player no longer has to babysit, and the part can farm experience/items on auto-command ...
