My wife and I are in a pretty great spot financially, and assuming the market is on an upswing when I'm ready to cash out on my IRA and 401k, There shouldn't be a dip in how I live either. House will be paid off in about 7 years, and I probably have at least 10 more years of working after that. That's $1700 that starting in 2031 will be straight savings instead of paying a mortgage.
