The problem (for me) is that even if you think what you're talking about is safe, they find a way to steer the conversation to wherever they want because they can't wait to recite what they heard on Fox/Newsmax last night.besides what people have said already this is a HUGE one I find it hard to talk to them at all because almost regardless of how far away the thing you're talking about is from LGBT/Jews/"woke"/immigration/Biden/Taylor Swift/Disney/whatever thing of the day they are obsessed with is, they will find a way to get that into the conversation anyway.
