Then again like I said I also do genuinely appreciate how these "Sony Spider-Man Universe" movies tell largely standalone stories (key word being largely, I know they're trying to tie it into the MCU in clumsy ways), and I also appreciated the second Venom movie embracing the whacky humor as a way to distinguish it from the MCU (where the humor is more of the snarky kind) even if the script still left much to be desired.
