People like owning nice things. But they seem to only be nice because of an arbitrary value the community determines validates the product's price. In that Trump Sneaker's threads people were posting some ugly ass shoes that I'm sure cost a lot of money. Meanwhile compared to say jewelry, it's hard to think that the more expensive it gets the uglier/more nonsensical it gets. Like, even with these Grinch's, the only appeal I see that sets it apart from a normal pair of Nike's is that it is a lime green and looks like it has scales. Does that justify a $1139 price tag?
