Why? It's in their Constitution and they would be violating state law if they didn't.
Who cares if it's in their constitution? New Hampshire's constitution doesn't dictate to all of America. It's ridiculous for tiny states that aren't even remotely representative of the national electorate to get to go first every presidential election.

Why would they do that? Why do we have to have a schedule? Why not just do everything on the same day like a normal country?
Ideally, that's exactly how the primaries would work. But Iowa and New Hampshire with their "we must go first every time" nonsense are the biggest obstacle to that.

Also, SURELY the DNC was jumping the schedule and not New Hampshire; they moved the primary schedule up to begin with, not New Hampshire.
A single state doesn't get to set the schedule for the entire country.

Biden also explicitly asked the DNC to put South Carolina first because it saved his campaign back in 2020.
"Saved his campaign" implies that it needed saving. What actually happened is that 2020 made it clear how silly the inflated importance given to Iowa and New Hampshire had always been.
