Totally different situation from voting for the other Phoenix Wright in this poll. Hobonix might as well be a completely unique and unrelated character, but even funnier, voting for AJ Phoenix Wright to win this poll sends a clear message: we liked you more when you were an unemployed hobo. I mean, I love Phoenix, but that's just fucking hilarious.

9. Apollo Justice

Yeah, I mean sure, why not? It IS his trilogy. I would vote down this option as being too boring, but here's the thing - there's a very realistic chance that Apollo could lose to Phoenix/Edgeworth/+1 (Charley?) in this poll and that would be really depressing. Since AA6, I have kind of become an Apollo > Phoenix fan, and I do really think Apollo deserves a win here in his own freaking game. If Phoenix beats Apollo I'll be annoyed.

8. Simon Blackquill

Unlike the other two major prosecutors in this trilogy, Simon Blackquill is great - possibly my favorite character in the franchise - and I'd be damn well pleased if he won. The only reason he's this low is that there's other characters who I'm more keen on earning some kind of accolade.

7. Ema Skye

I have really come to appreciate Ema over time - she's gone from being merely a good character to one of my faves recently. I admit I've gotten a little tired of the 'perky, goofy female sidekick' schtick and Ema, who has grown wiser and more cynical over the years, is a great antidote. I love her characterization in AA4 and I love her characterization in AA6 even more. I feel like Ema exists in the overlapping section of "characters who could plausibly win this poll" and "characters who I'd actually be stoked to see win" since she's just a little too underrated to ACTUALLY win. I definitely want to see more Ema.

6. Marlon Rimes

I dunno. This guy just rules. He's probably my favorite one-off side character in this trilogy and I know they probably won't illustrate the 'real' Marlon Rimes for spoiler reasons or whatever but they SHOULD because he's fucking awesome. I would be stoked beyond belief if Marlon somehow won this stupid character poll but he deserves to because 5-DLC is an incredible case.
