Honestly, you're right but the further we get away from WWII the harder it is to believe it without some kind of timey wimey stuff like with Captain America. It would be a huge change but Magneto being black doesn't have to be a terrible idea since technically the X-Men was based on civil rights and there's a good and bad thing about this. The good thing being is that it can really push straight into black people and America with their treatment and Magneto's hatred towards humans.
