In addition to Neve returning, Kevin Williamson is going to be directing.

I like the last two films, but they did feel a little fan-fictiony. I feel like Williamson being involved will help lessen that. As far as Campbell returning goes, the last film proved that the series can work without Sidney, and there was a clear plan for the story (as much as I dislike the "being a killer is genetic" trope). Ditching all of that and going back to Sidney feels like a shot in the foot, but I do think Williamson can make it work (even though I'd feel better if he were involved in the writing, too). I'm still gonna give it a chance, so we'll see.
