My mom said that when I was 18 I could decide for myself whether or not I wanted to keep going to church on Sundays, and that's when I stopped. Church wasn't a bad experience for me, but I'm just not a morning person and one extra day a week to sleep in was nice :3

But now that I have a hyper-religious Trumper of a coworker, I'm glad my parents took me to a normal church. She thinks stuff like being gay is a choice and evil, Israel can do no wrong because they're God's people, and stuff like fortune tellers, psychics, and magicians (including birthday party "is this your card?" magicians) are Satanic and sold their soul for their "powers". I tried explaining how magic tricks and shit work, but she's incredibly stupid...

I never really knew anyone who was so twisted up by religion before, and assumed it was just standard media hype. But seeing it first hand is heartbreaking, because she's under a lot of stress, and it's mostly due to her believing ridiculous stuff from the Bible, Rumble, or Fox. She'll believe use some crazy mental gymnastics to line up the Bible with whatever conspiracy theories they feed her and that makes her overly paranoid
