I see how that one scene could be considered racist but I also feel that if you immediately see that as intentionally racist the problem lies more with the viewer. The fact she's the one white woman shown in that entire village, and I think maybe even the whole game, is too on the nose. More like people are intentionally dismissing it because they don't want to think deeply about it or insist there's no issue merely because that's the desired outcome they want. It's tone deaf at best, enforcing the recreation of racial stereotypes that has led to many U.S. black men dying because they think it's humorous at worst. I don't know if you know this, however the Japanese have a history of using racial stereotypes in their games. It's no big deal to them because it's not actually a part of their history, so they can flippantly make jokes about it.
