"Line up, sign up if youre looking for some sin / And a dirty way to win, yeah / Get pissed, enlist, tap into the devil within / Let the villainy begin"

So everything I just said about fansongs? I don't really apply that to Starkid musicals (the ones based on real IPs anyway) because they're very clearly not trying portray a certain interpretation of the characters in any of them. I mean, Two-Face in this musical is just a guy making squeaky "two" puns that everyone hates. In this song, everyone is just a parody of their inspiration, as seen when they very directly line up to announce what their thing is. "I made a fear toxin in the form of gas, then I wear a scary mask!" It's not exactly deep, but they do a decent job of showing who each character is, which is more than I can say for most songs with 6 main characters. Are they villainous? I mean, they outright say "we're villains" in a handful of ways, but they never really say what they plan to do beyond "take over your streets" and "revel in malevolence."

Man, I miss Jim Povolo. Jim can't really dance and he's not the greatest singers, but his characters are always a highlight of whatever scene they're in. I've mentioned before I'm a huge Starkid fan. That being said, HMB is not their best work. It's not their worst, and I still like Rogues Are We, but it's not the best song in this show and definitely isn't the best song they've done. There's a big range of vocal talents here, from Dylan Saunders, who is incredible, to Jim and Denise Donovan, who can be hilarious but never had a lot of solo vocal moments for a reason.

It always makes me laugh when they go to sing a few lines about themselves one by one, and then you get Mr. Freeze saying "I've got ice in my veins," and then just walking on.
