Topic | Do you regret college? |
archizzy 03/20/24 5:17:14 PM #8: | I knew when I was in high school it wasn't the path for me. It can be a great path for some. But it was never for me. I watched too many people unsure of what they really want to do go to college and either not even complete it and drop out to take a break for a year and never come back or I watched them rack up debt for a degree that they never even put to use and ended up working in a completely different field and in a job that they never needed to go to college for in the first place.
So I made my decision early that I was joining the U.S Navy. I was going to get the hell out of my small midwestern town and travel the world while not accruing any debt. So that is what I did. Signed up at 17 and left right after high school. Also if I did want to go to college afterwards I had my GI Bill and even after that was used the Navy would pay for 75% of any college. I never used that but it was a benefit. So I never owed a penny from college and ended up with a great job that I have been at the last 25 years because of my Navy experience. --- PSN ID: sled_dogs76 60" Pioneer Kuro Elite PRO151FD, Yamaha RX-V3900 A/V Receiver, Oppo DV983-H player.
