To be fair the right-wing apparatus in this nation spent 49 years working towards getting Roe v Wade overturned and then it finally was. A lot of people thought it was just talk and/or was never going to happen, and then it did.

Having said that, I don't support the embargo.
Not exactly an apples to apples comparison there. The rights fight in this country was a bit more complex and involved plenty of hard (but evil) work to make that a reality. The embargo has been one concept repeated ad nauseum in hopes that it will eventually work. We did a lot of other stuff too especially in the '60s to bring the regime down but nothing like the patient astroturfing the right did on abortion politics.
