The thing about the X-Men is that they are not indicative of the average mutant. For every Cyclops there are one hundred mutants with non-threatening, even actively self-debilitating, powers. The X-Men, being the rare handful of mutants with actual combat powers, are trying to protect mutants like Beak, from getting killed by some piece of shit. Nobody is racist to Beak because they are scared of his ability to harm them. They just do so because they are pieces of shit.
