Weighed 232 this morning. That's the same as it was last September when I resolved to hit 199 by this point. That was an ambitious but certainly manageable goal. However, a string of family tragedies just really took me out of the right mindset for more aggressive weight loss. I've done long term caloric deficits before and I knew I did not have the right frame of mind to pull that off or the desire to experience the effects on mood.

Instead, I shifted to body recomp at maintenance. 2500 calories a day and lifting 4 days a week. I cut out running but took up long walks again. I'm the same weight but I've gone down two notches on the belt and all my clothes are fitting a little looser in my doughier areas and a little snugger in my usually lacking areas. 199 is still the goal but maybe for next year. I'm just going to keep doing this for the time being and build as much muscle as possible.
