This is my favorite. Such a visceral depiction of grief. I'm still pissed at how badly the 2019 film butchered it. The real meat of the novel is Louis's descent into grief and madness, spanning nearly a third of the book. Louis's dream about Gage surviving and growing up made me cry. The 2019 movie glossed over all that (in a fucking montage) in favor of being a generic horror flick about a creepy little girl. How original.
This is the exact reason why the 2019 film disappointed me. A modernization of the first film wouldve done so much better.
