Yeah markups are how businesses make profits, that's no surprise but you can't really use that as a justification. If I pay $2 to $5 for a burger that's fair to me. Saves me the time and labor. It just makes more sense to compare it to how much it would cost me to make the burger because that's the alternative. but it doesn't make sense because you're not making thousands of burgers per month or even dozens per hour that individual stores make also where are you spending $2 for a burger? lmao just for another example of consumer-point "inflation": my work is letting me buy a case of XL gloves for $39.95. that's 1000 XL gloves. buying that same amount of gloves at my grocery store right now would cost $275. --- I could see you, but I couldn't hear you You were holding your hat in the breeze Turning away from me In this moment you were stolen... ...
