I don't see anything about it being free DLC, but yes it was going to be an add-on to the first game. Once they knew the content exceeded what would just be an add-on to the first, they made it a full sequel. This is project creep yes, then COVID-19 happened & fucked their development cycle probably just like it did for most of the industry. & Given it's literally a team of 5 or so people last I checked, it will take time to develop. It's not a "delusion" to realize that a team of that size isn't going to patch this together that quick when studios 20x their size don't put games out in less than that time in a finished state but larger in scope.

I was mostly teasing with my first post but once people start referring to it in wild ways I blow my top lol.

Of course I'm defending it's development cycle, the first game was an amazing buy for 20$ or whatever. I don't want a sequel that just reuses assets, & is a carbon copy of HK with 30-40% different material in it. It'll come out when it's done, & there's no reason to believe it's pulling a Duke Nukem forever or Beyond Good & Evil 2. It's stayed in house, as far as we know as Team Cherry has not said elsewise. Last time they said anything about it was in the last year, & Xbox threw them under the bus partially giving a release date when they weren't ready yet lol
