At this point I don't think Cannon is trying pto get Trump off the hook. She knows she can't, even in her most insane "interpretations" of the law she can't do it. All she's trying to do is delay this trial until 2025. Actually the move I could see her making is dismissing charges after there is a jury. Once you have the jury the defendant is considered to be in jeopardy. Once someone has been in jeopardy for a crime and has gotten out of it whether it be by acquittal or the judge dismissing charges, they can never be charged for said crimes again.
