That's because it was likely be a huge fundraising event if Trump were to go to jail pre-trial. It's becoming a rather common opinion that Trump is intentionally pushing their buttons on the gag order for this reason. He spends a few days in jail and will raise a ton of money. I've also seen it increasingly said that it's possible this is the reason the judges are hesitant to do it, however I hope not because them doing the right thing shouldn't not be dependent upon whether or not Trump can raise money off of it, even if it does seem like the savvy thing to do if a judge were legitimately anti-Trump and his political aspirations.
