Even though they only make up about a 1/4 of the population the Christians in Korea have a lot of political sway. There isn't really a socially progressive party there (the politically center left party is probably more conservative on social issues). Abortion was only recently decriminalized by the supreme court with neither major party wanting to actually pass legislation to legalize it.

I think it's more like 1/3rd of South Koreans. Scary Korean churches are everywhere, and Korean Christians control politics in SK. Pr0n is completely banned there, they have an army of ajusshi "volunteers" who do HARD work looking at porn and reporting sites for banning. Meanwhile there are literally brothels on nearly every block, and 99% of hotels there are skeezy love hotels that have girls on call.
