What some people are mad about is how some none Bethesda story elements were treated in the story. It's less about retcons and more about if fans think it was "respected" enough. Personally the story choices being made here don't bother me at all. The people complaining about inaccuracies havent actually put much thought into how many characters and detail it would take to fully encompass the entirety of the decades of lore in this franchise in one season.
