And we can go back to lynching tomorrow where even if we force a power claim they will have at least a single night action to provide.

Better than an alternative reality where we force an important power to claim today and they eat an unblockable bullet tonight.

I feel like players here way overestimate scum night actions. They're only scary when scum has the necessary info to optimize usage of those actions.

Meanwhile, town powers usually excel in environments where there's limited info. Every time town has given up way more information than they should have, scum has been able to capitalize on it.

Furthermore, people keep saying D1 info is valuable and so we should lynch, but I can't recall a game in recent memory where players have actually gone back to reread D1 and found strong evidence to accurately convict scum. It's far likelier that players just don't bother ISOing or going back to reread and instead just vote based on info that's readily in their faces.

Especially as the game goes on where the people who would go back and reread are likely dead or scum.

NL is lame, but "we get lots of info out of D1" is an overrated take imo. Corrik shot scum. Let's just take our lucky victory and play it safe.
