I never could get connecting to my TV to look right

tried Xfce and KDE, Nvidia and AMD, X11 and Wayland, HDMI then tried a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter

nothing worked right, everything was either choppy, had screen tearing, or something was messed up with the resolution

so I just use Windows whenever I want to hook my laptop up to my TV
