Sure, there are idiosyncrasies in what people can find annoying, but acknowledging and respecting a common base shows that basic respect for your neighbor is there, which begets a basic tolerance for idiosyncrasies. I mean, you do actually believe this, you just take issue with the details of what specifically is found annoying in Japanese culture.
