Seeing the acceptance while some people are shunned by their family made me feel a bit emotional...but then bitch talked about keeping it hidden. It's not a one-to-one comparison but I had something similar like that happen when I opened up to my siblings that I was an Atheist. At first they were accepting of it, but then told me to lie to my parents about it or else it would hurt my relationship with them a lot. Up until this day, I'm still lying to my parents but that's because I'm really good at bullshitting that I'm a Christian.
