I can buy the rate is increasing too since teachers today seem to be younger. All you need to teach is a college degree in some places and occasionally special training / certification. With women graduating college at a higher rate, it makes sense that over time the trend towards educators will shift to having more women. Assuming the number of rapists remains proportional, there will be an actual increase of incidents along with victims being taken more seriously.

The bolded has basically always been the case, hasnt it? Teachers arent getting younger as such. The age that they start is the same as its always been. Its just that there are less older teachers because people dont tend to last long in the profession these days.
