The big problem is small houses arent getting built. Home builders buy up big tracts of land, break them up into tiny lots and build McMansions on them. Many cities make it illegal to build smaller homes due to minimum home sizes. For example, governor Hobbs vetoed a bill a few weeks ago they would have made it legal to build smaller homes by removing that minimum size requirement. Many of the Arizona cities and other groups pressured her into doing that veto.
