Just announced, NHTSA requiring Automatic Emergency Braking on all cars in the next 5 years.
Going to be yet another stupid technology added to increase cost per car, and I don't like the possible negative unintended consequences, at all.
So you're in an AEB car and get a "false positive" (my first concern when I saw the news, and apparently it's not uncommon...see below) while driving at 60 fucking miles per hour. The car behind you is older and doesn't have AEB, and has no logical reason to think you're going to suddenly SLAM ON THE BRAKES on a perfectly clear road, so he's unable to stop in time and collides with you.
I wonder how much more this will make cars and insurance cost?
