Personally, I'd still be inclined to go for it, just to eliminate side effects from the IUD, avoid the discomfort of future IUD insertions, and to protect yourself from any future legislation that might make sterilization or even IUDs illegal, but you do you. It's your body and you should do whatever you're most comfortable with. I don't have any negative side effects from the IUD. I also don't have a period and haven't in 11 years which is nice. I might revisit again if the voter initiative here doesn't pass.
