I wouldn't say it is normal to be depressed but I don't think indifference about your birthday means anything. I honestly have not celebrated my birthday since like Elementary school.. Past the age of 18 no one even acknowledged it except my dad.

For the past 30 years he is the only one who acknowledges it. He calls and tells me happy birthday. He raised me as a single dad, he has always been there for me. But besides him not a single friend, co worker, or anyone else even knows what day it is or says anything. I don't celebrate it and don't give a damn about it.

Once my dad is gone it will absolutely unnoticed. I have always been indifferent about my birthday. Nothing wrong with that.
