I'd argue it's more a constant state of repair than updates. "Updates" suggests that it's a preemptive measure to prevent something from going wrong or otherwise preemptively change things, but most changes the body makes to itself are in response to something that's already happened and needs correction. The only real "updates" we have are puberty and our growth into adulthood, both of which are suites of changes that happen to prepare us for a future need (respectively, babymaking and aspects of life that require adult size/strength). it's reactive development instead of planned --- see my gundams here https://imgur.com/a/F7xKM5r updated 4/07/24; hg dantalion ...
