Buts its not that simple and you ignoring the facts wont give you a true picture either.

It was a recall election. It wasnt a Im retiring election where they had to replace someone that was selected during the normal process because that person was leaving on their own.

This commissioner was being recalled for a specific thing they did. For that to happen there had to be a large number of people that already wanted the person out. Its very unusual; much more so than a regular special election as people keep using the term in this topic. By its nature a recall is going to be tough on the one being recalled.
