The only reason such votes happen is that the state legislatures got tired of having a presidential election tire fire in their chambers every 4 years, so they punted their state's electoral votes to elections. Of all the ignorant things I see Republicans on my Facebook feed say (admittedly that's the only place I see people being openly Republican in my circles anymore), I don't see the majority still pushing the idea of Joe Biden being an illegitimate president. I don't doubt the stupidity of anyone currently identifying as Republican, but I can't see our standard of normalcy in the electoral process being so drastically altered by the Supreme Court without some kind of unrest (even if that means through legal wars of sorts, and there would be massive protesting, though I can't say if that would turn into outright violence). ...
