I keep seeing this article posted but I can't find a source as to what new methodology or source the UN is using for why they decreased the women and children fatality count. They're now saying instead that some 4,959 women and 7,797 children, instead of the 9,500 and 14,500 number from before.

Could be related to that report from 2 months ago that showed that the health ministry numbers being reported were statistically impossible, not representative of the population distribution, and seemingly completely disconnected from events on the ground:

I couldn't find any history of anyone talking about the report, so if it's bogus I'm sure somebody will say how. At the very least it is written with a pro Israel bias, but the math itself lines up.
