you're of course under no obligation to click through the link in my sig but if you did you'd see I do most of my gaming on Switch and have more Nintendo games than any other console maker. In fact, I didn't even turn on my ps5 from May 2022-October 2023

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when other Nintendo fans post in here. They are clearly coasting, and milking their old games, and it's such a bummer to me that people settle for that

you can play all PS4/Xbone games on PS5/XSX, and they have have subscription services to play basically the entire catalog of PS1/PS2/PS3/PSP and Xbox/360 games and yet people get excited for nintendo porting a couple old games a year and occasionally adding NES-N64 games to their service?

I'm particularly salty about Switch ports of Wii U games as a day one Wii U owner. No $10 upgrades like the other guys, nope, if you want to play the Mario Kart 8 DLC (because they didn't even make a new one this gen!) you have to rebuy the game for full price and then buy the new DLC. Want to play 5 hours of new Mario content? Buy Super Mario 3D World again for full price

Nintendo have so many franchises and they've barely touched any of them this gen. They made "next gen" feeling entries in the Mario and Zelda franchises and then nearly everything else has gotten by-the-numbers sequels or lazy ports/remakes

i just hope they've been working on something to surprise us all for switch 2

You can say that all you like but your behavior says otherwise. You haven't turned on your PS5 for an entire year yet they aren't coasting and milking their old games with by-the-number sequels like Ragnarok and SM2 and lazy ports/remakes? At least most Nintendo ports/remakes actually add new gameplay content unlike Playstation's which remove content. How's that TLOU Factions doing? Mario and Zelda are the only games that feel next gen? You yourself have rated Kirby Forgotten Land, Fire Emblem Three Houses, and Metroid Dread as 5 star and they were huge leaps for their respective franchises. Stuff like Animal Crossing, Smash Ultimate, Splatoon, Pikmin, Xenoblade all had a huge boost for their franchises too. Even Pokemon Legends Arceus is a pretty bold step for Pokemon. Don't even talk about untouched franchises. Nintendo is the best of the three by far in recognizing their oldest franchises.

Of course you avoid bringing up the PC when talking about BC and subscriptions. The Xbox's gamerpass is better than Playstation's PSN and arguably so is Xbox's online in general. That still isn't helping it much to general gamers who see it as currently in a terrible position. Why? Because exclusives. Exclusives have always been the heart of these discussions but Playstation advocates always suddenly want to shift from that into talking about stuff like BC and online when discussing Nintendo. Wonder why.

Anyway I won't deny that the Switch has been aging... but that's because it's in its ending years. Meanwhile, the other systems should be in their prime but their current states leave a lot to desire.
