To be completely fair, it sounds like the woman had enough trouble bagging her stuff that it was starting to spill on to the floor and when she asked if they could slow down the cashier basically told her to bag faster and kept going until another employee had to step in.

So while this being a "story" is completely ridiculous, and I don't know why she would break into tears over some cans falling on the floor, but at least it's the story reads the cashier definitely was being a bit of an asshole too.

Dunno how that store works, but where I am we'd tell her that if she can't keep up (and preferably, even if she can), wait until we're done scanning before you try to pack it. In fact, customers trying to bag their items while we're still scanning is probably second only to "it doesn't scan it must be free" on the list of things that piss our staff off.
