He was capable of walking around during the day without use of his powers, and sunlight didn't kill him. But, if he laid down to rest during daytime in his coffin he was in a stupor and not able to act. While he was paralyzed before sunset, the protagonists managed to decapitate him and stab him in the heart, and he just turned to dust. --- "It's unpleasantly like being drunk."
