I'll just point out that the people who are claiming that no such thing happens are EXACTLY the people who always engage in it.

Your guess is as good as mine as to whether it's gaslighting or just "it doesn't count when we do it because, like everyone else, we genuinely believe we're in the right".

I have frequently marked/tagged people that post borderline dumb shit. Transphobia, dumb right wing disinformation, etc. With about an 80% rate these people are suspended and put in purgatory.

Now you can believe like MEGA does, where people get dogpiled for "seemingly no reason", or you can take the more measured approach and realize that most people do just have shitty views and opinions. And when they defend them, because they're shit, they get moderated.

Some dude just a few days ago, some username with "chimps" in it somewhere, made one of the most blatantly gross topics and it got about 60 pages of people calling out his bad posting. He is now suspended.

These "dogpiling" accusations are almost unanimously garbage because the opinions that are being "dogpiled" are usually something to the effect of "Women are shit and trans people are bad!".
