How's everything been going, Grace? Its mostly pretty good these days, thanks for asking! I go by Grae now, which is a long story (that Im not adverse to telling, but that wasnt the question). Im 36 now, which is something. I live in Maine with my partner and our two weird little dogs. Ive been working as a software engineer for almost 12 years now, currently Im employed by a large tech company that most folks would have heard of but wouldnt necessarily guess from that description. (Its an interactive AMA!) Ive had a pretty unique adult life so far. I was fortunate enough to find remote employment way before COVID, and I used that as an excuse to travel and live in various other countries. I did a count once and I think Ive been to roughly 65 countries (only counting places Ive stayed over in, not counting layovers and passing through). I lived in Thailand and Vietnam for 2 years each, and I co-founded a craft beer brewery in Vietnam. Thats actually what led to me meeting my partner/wife, we matched at a speed dating event in Hanoi, Vietnam and moved back to the US together during COVID. Anyway, Im a lot more stable, happy, and comfortable in my own skin than I was for at least part of my board 8 tenure.
