| Topic | The chance Trump might win really annoys me. |
| archizzy 09/07/24 9:22:12 PM #14: | I mean this isn't unique and it will always be this way no matter who the candidates are. Ignoring for the fact we know popular vote doesn't decide the election but still if we look at the numbers it tells a story. 1984 was the biggest landslide election ever electoral wise when Reagan crushed Mondale 525-13. A massive win. But look at the popular vote. He only got 58.8% of the vote. The biggest landslide in history and yet only had 58.8% of the popular vote. The bottom line is the popular vote is always going to be relatively close no matter what, no matter who, no matter how great, no matter how bad. And because of the stupid electoral college it can vary wildly depending on how close certain states are. So be prepared to be annoyed forever. Debates don't matter, policy don't matter, truth doesn't matter. Each side thinks the other is absolutely wrong/stupid/evil and this will always be a red vs blue no matter who result. It's always going to be close and come down to a few key swing states. --- PSN ID: sled_dogs76 60" Pioneer Kuro Elite PRO151FD, Yamaha RX-V3900 A/V Receiver, Oppo DV983-H player.
