Actually I hate landlords because every one I've ever had has been apathetic and stupid at best, and actively cruel and stupid at worst. All of them charged exorbitant prices for run down tenements that they refused to fix.

I once had a landlord who was so lazy that he allowed the building to become overrun with mice just because he didn't feel like doing anything about the downstairs tenant who was literally stacking bags of garbage in their apartment and in the hall. Guess what the landlord did about the mice. If you guessed: "buy a ton of fox urine and splash it everywhere because it was cheaper than an exterminator" you're correct. It didn't work either. But it did make the whole building smell like piss.

Out of all the people I know who rent, exactly one has a landlord who actually does his job and isn't a huge prick.

Landlords are scum. I'd hate them no matter how much money I had.
