My dad still carries his Zippo around even though he no longer smokes since he says you never know when having a source of fire in your pocket will come in handy.

He keeps his topped up too since its surprising how correct he is about that, from burning stray strands off fabrics to lighting scented candles for my mom.

Im beginning to think its his subconscious craving a cigarette and him finding much more wholesome uses for his lighter is him fighting back against that bad habit.

My dad also carries one for what he claims are similar reasons. He'll use it to smoke a cigar like once a month, but from what I can tell it's primary use is as a fidget spinner
