That was where the Forgotten Crypt was, where you could only get in as a spirit and had the upside-down bodies tied to chains. Apparently in Legion they eventually did something with the Crypt. That was another kinda cool part about original WoW; the stuff they dropped in that would eventually open up later like Mt. Hyjal or the gates to Uldum. I imagine they must have used everything by now.

Honestly I loved that about classic WoW. Between climbing up mountains, abusing Noggenfogger Elixirs, climbing into walls, etc you could really get to some interesting areas. Made it feel like there was so much to explore in the world.

So I guess nominate Hidden Areas in WoW Classic.
